In 2026, March once again saw a wonderful “Living Museum” opening that drew hundreds of visitors.
Thanks to some good weather, it turned out to be a wonderful weekend with a lively crowd on site. This was also a boon for the new “bunker bar,” where visitors could quench their thirst after satisfying their hunger for history.
No matter how nice the weather may be, it all starts, of course, with the dedication of all the volunteers (including reenactors) who bring the museum to life. We thank them and of course the many visitors for helping to make this another success!
As usual, there were quite a few photographers among the visitors, including Ilya de Milde , who sent us a beautiful series of black-and-white photos. If you weren’t able to attend, these photos offer a great glimpse of how history was brought back to life at the unique World War II site in Park den Brandt. Thanks, Ilya!
In May you can also head to Putte for a journey through history, organized by Kamp44.
From Thursday, May 14, through Sunday, May 18, visitors can explore a unique exhibition and the interactive park. In addition to original vehicles, weapons, and equipment, the exhibition features unique photographs, historical documents, and other exceptional artifacts from World War II collections. There will also be a night event, a drop-in, a music and dance evening (free admission), and a live performance on Sunday, while in the continuously open GI Bar & Catering one can always find something to eat or drink.
